It all started when…

Rock wall is the original groundwork trade I entered into in the 80’s on the doorsteps of California. As a first generation American-Tongan. Ancestral knowledge of “maka,” or stone formations and buildings were embedded in me at a young age. Building my very own house during my primary school days back in our home village, Kolomotu’a. Working with stones and rocks were done on a daily. Using special stones to create traditional Tongan underground ovens called ‘Imu. What we never knew of then, but in todayʻs age most would consider very limited materials- with just a little creativity, passion for quality work, and a knack for math, these all culminated into the birth of Holani Masonry. It has been over 25 years now, across 4 states Holani Masonry remains the proven establishment it is today. If you have ever driven around the quaint town of Hilo, you most likely seen a rock wall, foundation or concrete structure constructed by Holani Masonry. We are a family owned business who are humbled to be able to linking our ancestral knowledge and wisdom with new age technologies and techniques to service your any stone, cement, rock, brick, block, rock wall, concrete need and more.
